In 2007 I was fortunate enough to travel to Kavieng to explore the freshwater caves of New Ireland. Dean Johnson and I spent an amazing week diving numerous river caves along the coast of the Island. For cave divers interested in exploration of undived and unmapped caves, New Ireland is a potential Mecca. Large underwater speleotherms were abundant and the fresh water visibility was excellent. What more could a couple of hardened cave divers want we thought;-)...Then at the completion of the week we managed to experience a number of exquisite ocean dives amongst the many wrecks and most gorgeous reefs I have ever seeen. The visibility was superb and the weather wonderful. A photographers dream, evident by some of Dorians fantastic photos visible on this website.
We found Cara and Dorian the most hospital and organised hosts a diver could want. Both were genuinely lovely people and I could not recommend their operation enough. I enjoyed my Kavieng expereincce immensely and hope many others take the opportuntiy to vist and experience the culture and subaquatic delights the region has to offer.

Thanx - Steve

Great diving with you guys, very professional dive operation to go with great viz and water temp...Will see you again in 2008 (without fail). The accomodation with Nusa Island Resort and food was exceptional. My favourite was the Albatross Passage drift. Keep up the great work. Cheers Shane
